Basic degree system

The degree system is basically the ability to lead, teach, understand, knowledge and experience. People that strive to become 2nd or 3^rd degree need to be wise, want to learn and devoted to wicca. Someone with out these values or above skills would make a bad High priest(ess), because they couldn’t accomplish the needs of the coven or give miss information. Having just experience and knowledge it not all you need to be a HP or HPs you need all the skills and a balanced mind.

First degree: this is the degree of initiation. The first step into a coven, linking thee with the coven and the planetary energies involved with the coven. Some covens will initiate newcomers with out any prior knowledge. In other words, let them lean of the group so they can catch up. But, as in the Galdraheim tradition, then new comers are expected to have some basic knowledge of wicca. When this group is a coven then the study group will still run. Because I think before you join a coven you should know the basics.

Second degree: This is a more involved degree. The coven member has decided to go deeper into the craft. This involves more work in craft skills, such as craft-work, herbalism, incense making, practical magick, ritual and ceremony. The second degree will help to initiate and train new members. With the second degree come with many responsibilities, such as organizing 1^st degrees and candidates. They will also need to set tasks for the newcomers, like cleaning and setting up temple.

Third degree: This degree is bestowed on the most experience, knowable ,the must have good people, organizational, social, magickal and ritual skills. The member must be of the second degree before they can become the third. Also this is normal given with in a coven to members (Couples normal) that are going off to form a new coven. This process is known as 'hiving-off'. This show that the member is capable of running a coven in a good way. A very important skill of the 3^rd degree is the ability to feel other people's energy. So the can see whet is happening with them and help the to grow or unlock the potential. Also the ones that don’t leave the coven become elders and are expected to have the skills of the HP or HPs.
