Have a cleaning bath

Set up your altar :-

In the east, where the sun rises and the day begins (I use the east).

In the north, Where all magicks come from.

In the center, where balance is.

Materials:-

Athame or wand (Sword for times of stress and need - the sword is a sign of courage)

Sea salt (from a food store)

Water in a container (Some witches use seashell, A cup of glass will do)

Incense

Thurible (incense burner)

A bell

4 Quarter candles

Blue - water, Red - Fire, Green - earth, yellow - air

1 White candle

Matches (Avoid metal lighters)

Remember that this casting was made for the altar being in the east.

The four quarters candles are put on corresponding point of the circle. The white candle is held by you, how stands in the middle.

Ring the bell three times

Say: "Be it known that the Temple is about to be erected; the circle is about to be cast"

Hold the match above you head and bring it down to the box, then strike it. This must be done in a continues movement. The match is used to light the white candle.

Say: "The light that comes from above".

Take the candle to the east and light the east candle. raise the candle

Say: "Here do I bring Light and Air in at the east, to illuminate our Temple and bring it the Breath of Life.".

Take the candle to the South and light the South candle. raise the candle

Say: "Here do I bring Light and Fire in at the south, to illuminate our Temple and bring it warmth".

Take the candle to the west and light the west candle. raise the candle

Say: "Here do I bring Light and Water in at the west, to illuminate our Temple and wash it clean".

Take the candle to the North and light the North candle. raise the candle

Say: "Here do t bring Light and Earth in at the north, to illuminate our Temple and to build it in strength".

Ring the bell three times

Place the white candle back on the alter. Pick up the athame/wand/sword and hold it up above you

Say: "Mighty Mother, Mighty Father, Strike this Blade with Light, that I may cast the Magick circle".

Walk deosil (clock-wise) around the circle from the east point. Visualize yourself drawing a circle of pure white radiant (glowing) light. the ends of the circle must overlap. Return back to the alter and make the sign of the invoking pentagram, while saying,

Say: "I canjure ye. O circle of art. to be a Temple between the worlds. Wherefore do I bless and consecrate thee. So mote it be!"

Ring the bell three times

Place the point of the athame in the salt.

Say: "As salt is life, let it purify me in all ways I may use it. Let it cleanse my body and spirit as I dedicate myself in these rite to the glory of the God and Goddess"

Take tree portions of salt, using the athame, and place them in the water. Stir the now-salted water, and say,

Say: "Let the sacred salt drive out any impurities in this water, that I may use it throughout these rites" <Pause for a minuet> "I now consecrate the circle with the sacred water, in honor of the Ancient ones".

Walk deosil around the circle, sprinkling the salted water along its line. Then walk back to the altar and put the container back on the altar.

Ring the bell three times

Light the incense.

Say: "I offer this humble gift of love in honor of the lady and the lord; may it's fragrance be pleasing to them"

Walk deosil around the circle with the incense.

Walk back to the altar and make a invoking pentagram over the alter. Place the Thurible back on the alter.

Ring the bell three times.

Say: "I am here in peace and love. I bid you welcome. Let now the Quarters be saluted and the Elements invited".

Walk to the east candle and make an invoking pentagram.

Say: "Hail to the element of air; Watchtower of the east. May it stand in strength, ever watching over out circle".

Kiss the blade of your Athame

Walk to the South candle and make an invoking pentagram.

Say: "Hail to the element of fire; Watchtower of the South. May it stand in stremgth, ever watching over our circle".

Kiss the blade of your Athame

Walk to the West candle and make an invoking pentagram.

Say: "Hail to the element of Water; Watchtower of the West. May it stand in strength, ever watching over our circle".

Kiss the blade of your Athame

Walk to the North candle and make an invoking pentagram.

Say: "Hail to the element of Earth; Watchtower of the North. May it stand in strength, ever watching over our circle".

kiss the blade of your Athame

Say: " I come before thee in perfect love and perfect trust. <Raise your athame>. Hail the four quarters and hail the Gods! We bid the Lord and Lady welcome, and invite them to join with me, witnessing these rites I hold in their honor. Hail!"

Say: "The circle has been cast, the Temple is erected. I will not leave it but for good reason. So mote it be!"

Ring the bell nine times

Closing the circle

Walk to the east candle, raise your Athame and say

Say: "Thank you, O element of air, Watchtower of the East, for witnessing my rite. Stay if you will; go if you must".

Make the sign of the Banishing pentagram, kiss you Athame and extinguish the candle.

Continue deosil around the circle and walk to the South.

raise your Athame

Say: "Thank you, O element of fire, Watchtower of the south, for witnessing my rite. Stay if you will; go if you must".

Make the sign of the Banishing pentagram, kiss you Athame and extinguish the candle.

Continue deosil around the circle and walk to the west.

raise your Athame

Say: "Thank you, O element of water, Watchtower of the West, for witnessing my rite. Stay if you will; go if you must".

Make the sign of the Banishing pentagram, kiss you Athame and extinguish the candle.

Continue deosil around the circle and walk to the North.

raise your Athame

Say: "Thank you, O element of Earh, Watchtower of the North, for witnessing my rite. Stay if you will; go if you must".

Make the sign of the Banishing pentagram, kiss you Athame and extinguish the candle.

Say: "As merry we have met,

As merry we have been

So merry may we pert

And merry meet again!"

Walk Widdershins around the circle, visualising the energy being drawn back into your Athame/Wand/Sword.

Say: "The circle is undone and not broken. I cast this magick into the Universe to produce all the most perfect and correct things and to do my will. (stat you purpose). So mote it be!"

Return to the altar and make the banishing pentagram.

Say: "The Temple is now closed; the rite is now concluded".

Ring the bell nine times and the white candle is extinguished
