Although this page is title "The spell theory" for spells to work you must believe in the magick. So you can't just see the theory behind the magick, you must put your heart in to your magic and will.

Basic theory

The way magic works, or so I've been told, is cause and effect. You "will" a change in your environment and then it will change. They way I see it, is you are controlling energies with your mind and manipulating them to your whim. They easiest way to explain this is, making it rain. If the skies where clear and you willed it to rain. (Through spell, rituals etc.) then your mind could manipulate the clouds and wins to draw rain to where you want them and make it rain.

Collective mind theory (CMT)

This is just a theory and not widely supported by wiccans. Remember to always have an open mind as you read.

Imagine that we have no bodies and don't exists in the material world. Instead we are just souls using are minds collectively to create a world in which we can interact with each other. Well if the "world" is controlled by the mind then the mind could change anything through thought or will. That means if you change your environment, then all you would be changing is the way you perceive your environment. And because the "world" is a collective image of everyone's mind, then in effect you would change everyone perception, causing a change in everyone environment. Magick!!!
